Hosta 'Minuteman' is a stunning selection of 'Francee'. Dark green, shiny, slightly cupped leaves with pure white margins. Good substance. A cousin to 'Patriot', very similar but darker green with a thicker substance. A fresh, clean looking plant that matures into a reliable and attractive mound of foliage. While not the most fertile hosta on the market, 'Minuetman' does display some interesting 2" long funnel-shaped lavender flowers on scapes that rise just a few inches above the heart-shaped leaves. A favorite of many. (Machen 1994)
MATURE HEIGHT: 18".
MATURE SPREAD: 50".
HARDINESS ZONES: 3,4,5,6,7,8,9.
FLOWER: Pale lavender, early to mid season.
SUN EXPOSURE: Part sun to shade.
SIZE SHIPPED: Liner.
A very small starter plant with one eye and a small set of roots.
