Hosta 'Midnight Oil'
New for 2024!
Hosta 'Midnight Oil'. We were amazed at how dark these plants were this past year, even as younger starters. They grew at a nice pace and are destined to be eye-catchers in the garden. Bob Solberg says... "This is one of the darkest green hostas of all time and very apply named. Its broad, shiny leaves are almost black in the right light. It has aways been one of my favorites" The thick leaves mature to 6"x4" and are slug resistant. A seedling from the pairing of hosta ‘Potomac Pride’ X hosta ‘Neat Splash Rim’. (Stegeman 2004)
MATURE HEIGHT: 16".
MATURE SPREAD: 30".
HARDINESS ZONES: 3,4,5,6,7,8,9.
FLOWER: striped purple, mid season.
SUN EXPOSURE: Part sun to shade.
SIZE SHIPPED: 2.5" pot.
