Astilbe 'Purple Candles'

TALL & PROUD...

Astilbe chinensis 'Purple Candles'. The tallest of our astilbe, this big beauty grows almost 4 feet tall. The dense, poker-like plumes emerge rich violet-red mid season, then lighten up as the summer progresses. The dark green foliage is unique with its bold, course texture that nicely contrasts the purple plumes. Known as 'Purpurkerze' in Europe.

MATURE HEIGHT: 42".

MATURE SPREAD: 24".

HARDINESS ZONES: 4,5,6,7,8,9.

FLOWER: Mid season.

SUN EXPOSURE: Full sun to mostly shady.
