Astilbe chinensis 'Purple Candles'. The tallest of our astilbe, this big beauty grows almost 4 feet tall. The dense, poker-like plumes emerge rich violet-red, then lighten up as the summer progresses. The dark green foliage is unique with its bold, course texture that nicely contrasts the purple plumes. Known as 'Purpurkerze' in Europe.
PLANT SIZE: This astilbe is shipped well rooted and growing in a deep 3" pot. You will receive a nice multi-eyed division of blooming age.
Please note that we ship Astilbe seasonally, mid April through October. Orders placed in 'winter' (November - early April) that contain Astilbe will be shipped mid April.
