Aquilegia vulgaris 'Magpie'. Also known as 'William Guiness'. Often referred to as Columbine or Granny's Bonnet, this variety displays white & deep purple, near black flowers - a startling vision. A strong growing and reliable variety that often produces seedlings around the mother plant. A great companion plant to hostas and pulmonarias.
'Magpie' is perfect for the butterfly garden. It also attracts hummingbirds. This beauty makes wonderful fresh cut flower bouquets that last up to 2 weeks in a vase!
